What is Reiki?
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century and is a form of energy healing, based on the idea that an unseen ‘life force energy’ flows through us. During stressful or challenging times, if this energy is low, we are more likely to feel unwell or get sick.
To balance your energy and get rid of any energy ‘blocks’, a Reiki master places their hands either on or just above your body and gently moves them around. It is a very gentle therapy, you don’t have to get undressed and you can either lie down or sit for Reiki.
The Benefits of Reiki
Reiki is a holistic therapy, it treats the whole person including the mind, body, emotions and spirit. Reiki balances and strengthens the flow of energy within the body. It may decrease pain, improve sleep, ease muscle tension and generally help with relaxation and feelings of peace and well-being. Reiki does not replace medical treatments or therapies, but can enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
