Celebrate a spectacular person with a spectacular sendoff: scatter their ashes in space. 

Aura Flights carry our passengers’ ashes in an intelligent scatter vessel to 100,000 feet above the Earth with a biodegradable space balloon.

Set against the beautiful view of our planet, the ashes are released in a gentle cascade. From here, they spend the next 3–6 months travelling around the globe, spreading out across the entire planet before they return to Earth as raindrops and snowflakes across the world.

Designed by aerospace engineers, the scatter vessel is equipped with 4K cameras to capture the journey into space and create a beautiful scatter every time. Every passenger gets their own dedicated flight.

The balloons are made out of undyed, natural latex that is biodegradable and decomposes at the same rate as an oak leaf. After the balloon reaches altitude and bursts, 95% is recovered, and the rest is non-toxic, and harmless to wildlife. We use renewable hydrogen as our lifting gas to help preserve the supply of helium for vital medical and scientific applications.

Once we’ve confirmed a booking, we’ll add the flight to our launch schedule and arrange for your loved one’s ashes to be collected by our courier at a time and date that suits you. Our trusted ashes transport partners personally hand-deliver your loved one into our care.

Following the flight, we transform the footage into a personalised video memorial of the departed, incorporating your photos, video clips and messages as a lasting memento of their breathtaking final journey.

This will be shared with you on a USB device within 6 working days of the launch, along with a physical photo print and a digital certificate recording the details of the space launch. The passenger’s photo on the vessel will be returned in a sleek personalised frame with flight details engraved. Everything will also be hosted on a digital memorial page online, where people can share messages of love and support.
