I’m Tamara Burgess, an independent funeral celebrant based in London, supporting families across the city and surrounding areas with warm, personal and thoughtfully crafted ceremonies. I specialise in creating funerals, memorials and celebrations of life that feel authentic, inclusive and true to the person who has died.​

My services include crematorium and burial funerals, celebration of life ceremonies, memorials held weeks or months after a death, graveside services, and small, intimate gatherings at home or in a favourite venue. I can also help you create space for ritual and remembrance around scatterings of ashes, anniversaries and private family farewells. Every ceremony is written from scratch, with carefully chosen music, readings and symbolic gestures that reflect your beliefs, culture and stories.​

The way I work is gentle, organised and collaborative. Once I’m appointed, I’ll arrange a meeting with you (in person or online) to listen to your memories, talk through options and understand what matters most. I then craft a full ceremony script, including tributes and the order of service, and share it with you so you can check every detail feels right. On the day, I liaise with your funeral director, venue and any readers or musicians, so you can focus on being present with family and friends.

I’m an experienced, professionally trained celebrant with several years of practice creating and leading bespoke funerals and celebrations of life.
