Tithe Green Natural Burial

Tithe Green Natural Burial is a family-run team creating beautiful, peaceful places for people to be laid to rest.

We offer natural burial, ashes interment, and direct cremation with ashes interment in our growing woodlands and wildflower meadows. Plots are marked with memorial trees and bespoke slate plaques that blend gently into the environment around them.

Our story began in Nottingham in 1999, when we were among the first to offer natural burial in the UK. Today, we continue that same careful stewardship across three natural burial grounds in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Natural burial is about returning to nature. Whilst many of us feel drawn to nature throughout life, few realise we can become part of it in death.

When families choose a plot at Tithe Green, it is theirs forever. There are no renewal or maintenance fees, and every site is protected to become permanent woodland. For us, natural burial is about creating something lasting, for people and for nature.

Each burial ground has a dedicated site manager who cares for the land, welcomes families on the day of a service, and is a familiar, friendly face for visitors. Looking after these spaces is important not only for the people who spend time there, but for the wildlife that calls them home.

We also know grief does not end after the funeral. Alongside raising awareness for natural burial, we provide ongoing bereavement support for anyone who might be struggling – whether or not they have visited us before. Our Facebook Group is a private community, moderated by bereavement specialists, where members are encouraged to post freely. We host Memory Mile walks and Guided Grief Groups on the first Wednesday of every month at each of our sites, all free to attend whenever you’d like to.
