Rob Delaney is an American comedian, actor, writer and activist. He was the co-writer and co-star of the British TV show ‘Catastrophe’ and has appeared in a number of comedy films.

Listening to Rob Delaney reading his own words on the Audible version of this book really brought home the depth of his grief, and his utter bewilderment at the way life can change in an instant. At how fragile and unpredictable life is. This is a book woven tightly with both pain and humour. Delaney’s almost matter of fact, deadpan delivery only serves to emphasize his sadness and despair at the death of his beloved son, of the shortness of his life, and the agony of watching him suffer. As he says when explaining to readers why he wrote this book, ‘I WANT you to understand’. The enormity of losing his precious child and the anger he feels was, and is, too big to keep to himself. He needs to share it. And in doing so, Delany hopes to help others who may be going through something similar, or those who are supporting someone who is. This honest, frank and beautifully written story will certainly do so.
