Religious Funeral Urns

Funeral Urns for Different Religions
There are many types and styles of funeral urns for different faiths and spiritual traditions. They often feature symbolic designs, images and inscriptions. We have outlined some of them below.
Buddhist Urns
Buddhist urns often have the Bodhi Tree Symbol, which represents wisdom and enlightenment, an image of Buddha in meditation, or mandalas, that symbolise eternal life and the universe in its ideal form.
Catholic Urns
Catholic urns often feature a saint that holds particular meaning to that person, maybe an image of Mary and Jesus, or a depiction of someone praying. Urns may also be decorated in rosary beads.
Christian Urns
Christian urns often feature a cross, a scripture, or symbolic design such as an angel or doves, representing peace and hope.
Hindu Urns
Hindu urns may be engraved with the sacred Om Symbol or lotus flowers, representing purity and enlightenment. They are usually designed to dissolve in water, for water burials in sacred rivers.

Islamic Urns
Islamic urns may be inscribed with Arabic calligraphy of Quranic verses or feature traditional Islamic geometric patterns.
Jewish Urns
Jewish urns often feature the Star of David, a Hebrew blessing or prayer, or the Tree of Life, symbolising the circle of life and renewal.
Personalised Spiritual Urns
For someone who is not aligned with any particular religion, the design of an urn may be inspired by nature. Maybe with an image of the sea or woodlands, a favourite quote or a photo of a loved one.
