The Moon and I

I have always loved the moon
but now
she and I are locked
in an eternal pact of hope
I ask her how you are
and she lets me know
you’re peaceful
blissful
reminding me
you still exist within my own bones
and that she’s simply reflecting that back
so I can see it more clearly
I ask her not to stop
never to stop
I have always loved the moon
but now she holds me in the night
when I need to see your face
I look at hers instead
and she shows me you, my love
she reflects you right back
and I ask her not to stop

she and I are locked

an eternal remembering
of you.
